Active Monitoring

« Back to Glossary Index

Active monitoring deals with actively monitoring for events. This is very resource-intensive and implies someone (or something) is actively watching and monitoring the data. Active monitoring is typically used when trying to debug an incident or problem. Synthetic monitoring is a type of active monitoring. Active monitoring is also fundamental to AIOps’ continuous analysis of monitored data. See also Proactive Monitoring.
